Argument Essay
For my last essay I have decided to argue a topic from my home town Oklahoma City. After hurricane Katrina the NBA basketball team the New Orleans Hornets played two seasons in OKC. It was a great success and we had some of the best attendance across the nation. But once New Orleans felt they were ready to have their basketball team back they left and went back to New Orleans this past season. After they left a lot of Oklahomans felt that we deserved a professional team. A group of business men bought the Seattle Supersonics. They have been trying to get them to come here this past year. One of the main problems was our arena was not up to par to furnish an NBA team for many years. This is when the city decided to put a tax to voting to refurnish our arena. It did pass but their were people that did not agree with it and believed we should of not passed this tax. My argument is that these people are wrong and a professional basketball team would do great things for Oklahoma City.

This sounds like a great topic to consider, especially since the city has been so successful in hosting the New Orleans team over the past few years. If you're looking at the Seattle team as a possible solution, you may look at how support for the team is (attendance at games, etc.) in comparison to the support Oklahoma City residents provided to New Orleans.
